With the Spring Festival drawing near, the air is filled with festive cheer. On February 5, the “Xinhua Intangible Cultural Heritage Market,” themed “Galloping Ahead with Heritage in Every Home,” officially opened in Shenyang. Organized by Xinhua Group's Northeast Region and the Xinhua Intangible Cultural Heritage Center, the event puts cultural heritage at its heart and festive goods at its core, presenting citizens with a festive gathering that blends cultural richness with immersive delight.

Nearly a thousand visitors gathered at the Xinhua Intangible Cultural Heritage Center on opening day, where exhibits abounded. The three-day market brought together over 40 booths covering intangible heritage crafts, traditional handicrafts, heritage foods and cultural creative products. Renowned Liaoning heritage projects, including Fang's Leather Trunks, Song's Seal Engraving, Dough Figure Liu, Mu Yubing's Folk Paper-cutting, Lu's Cotton Painting, Zhang's Ancient Guqin, Liu's Cloisonné Painting, Zhou's Straw Weaving and tussah silk costume making, were showcased alongside more than 20 interactive experiences in calligraphy, painting, knitting, traditional Chinese medicine, accessories and food. Through a “display + experience + sales” model, the market created a highly attractive immersive shopping experience.

Amid the scent of ink, handcrafts and timeless elegance, intangible heritage inheritors brought traditions “alive in the present” through live demonstrations, interactive experiences, physical exhibitions and livestreamed tours of the market. The Xinhua Intangible Cultural Heritage Center actively builds a platform for showcasing and passing on heritage, bringing traditional culture into communities and everyday life.
